Book One : 'Maud's Book of Houses: 19th Century Houses in Wentworth'

One of the major activities during 2003 was a milestone book launch for long-time Wentworth resident and historical society stalwart, Maud Crang. The book, in A4 format and entitled 'Maud's Book of Houses: 19th Century Houses in Wentworth', is a detailed study of the town's remarkable architecture and some of the town's oldest houses and their history. In the introduction, Miss Crang points out that many of the featured buildings are little changed, but others have undergone major or many facelifts over the years and bear little resemblance to their original selves. Featured buildings include the Lock House, many of the homes in Cadell Street facing the Junction, Rendelsham House, the old Customs House, the Police Station and the The Gaol House.

Book Two : 'Maud's 2nd Book of Houses: 20th centuray Houses of Wentworth, Curlwaa and Mainstreet Development'

Maud’s 2nd Book of Houses was launched by Helen Bowring on Friday 21 July, at the opening of the 1956 Flood Photographic Display in the Wentworth Town Hall.

Maud’s 2nd Book of Houses extends the  history of the houses of Wentworth into the first half of the 2oth century.   But Maud broadens the scope with this book, by adding two new themes: the history of the Main Street—Darling Street between Sandwych and Adelaide, and an account of the houses built at the Curlwaa Irrigation Area between 1900 and 1925.
